Iranian short ‘The Hands’ to vie at UK fest

Iran’s ‘The Hands’ is to compete at the 2020 Southport Film Festival in the UK.

Iranian title ‘The Hands’ has been selected to compete at the first edition of the Southport International Short Film Festival in the UK.

Directed by Parviz Rajaee, the short title is about determinism and free will.

A synopsis for the film reads “Some are in stillness to be formed by a hand, and others try to form”.

‘The Hands’ received the best short film award at the winter season (January-March) of the World Premiere Film Awards in the US.

The Southport film festival aims to showcase the best short films from around the world.

The festival has been scheduled for June 26-28, 2020. But it may be held online due to the coronavirus outbreak.
